Ted Allen  Claypool
Vondel Smith Mortuary South Lakes

Ted Allen Claypool, a resident of Tuttle, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 7, 2016 and joined his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, for an eternity in Heaven. He was 60 years old. He was born on September 24, 1955 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to his parents, Leander T. and Shirley M. Claypool, who both preceded him in death. He attended Crooked Oak Schools until his junior year and obtained a GED through night school at Del City High in 1973. He was accepted into the Oklahoma City Fire Department as a rookie firefighter in 1977 and retired 25 years later as a Major in 2002. He treasured the fellowship of his firefighter buddies throughout his career and beyond. During a chance encounter at Braum’s Ice Cream store in 2002, he met Cathy Charlson, who became his wife on December 31, 2005. Together they enjoyed camping, cruises to the Bahamas, motorcycle road trips and just spending quality time together, along with special time spent with the grandkids. Ted will be missed by all those who knew & loved him.

Ted is survived by his loving:
Wife and caregiver, Cathy Claypool, of the home;
Son, Brandon Claypool and his wife, Miranda of Blanchard, OK;
Sister, Sandy Wooden and her husband, Don of OKC;
Nephew, Jason Garcia of OKC;
Two beautiful grandchildren: Madison and Cooper, who “Pappy” loved so much;
Along with numerous friends who filled his life with joy.
