Edythe Barbara Rains joined Heaven’s angels on Sunday June 26, 2016 at the age of 86. The daughter of Amos Webster and Susie Belle (Hough) Horstman, Edythe was born September 29, 1929 in Washington, D.C. On April 28, 1952, she married the love of her life, Paul David Rains. This union of marriage was blessed with two sons, Paul Jr. and Darrius and two daughters, Cheryl and Lucy. In addition to being a wonderful homemaker, loving wife and devoted mother, Edythe retired from civil service at Tinker Air Force Base. She enjoyed making crafts, writing poetry which was published and was an excellent cook. Her unique character, wonderful sense of humor, and captivating smile, was most admired and will be forever remembered.
She was preceded in death by her:
Parents;
Brother, Edwin Horstman.
She leaves cherished memories with her loving:
Husband of 64 years, Paul David Rains, Sr.;
Son, Paul David Rains, Jr.;
Son, Darrius Rains;
Daughter, Cheryl Dorffler;
Daughter, Lucy Rains;
Grandchildren: Theresa Dorffler and Paula Betancourt;
Sister, Ruth Ritt;
Many other beloved family and friends.
