Obituary for George Willis Ross

George Willis  Ross
Reverend George Willis Ross went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at the age of 84. The son of Johnnie Franklin and Margarette Lucille (Bryen) Ross, Willis was born on March 18, 1932 in Cloud Chief, Oklahoma. Willis honorably served his country in the United States Army before working as a cashier and dairy manager at Safeway for many years. Willis was also Pastor of the Pentecostal Holiness Church in Chickasha, Oklahoma. He loved the Lord and lived his life accordingly. Willis just loved baseball. As long as there was a game on television, he was a happy man. Traveling was also a passion of his and he loved to travel the western part of the United States with his family. If you really wanted to get Willis in an uproar, just start talking politics. You would never win that discussion. Willis was an amazing storyteller and loved to reminisce about the “good old days”. He was also quite the prankster. He loved telling jokes and pulling pranks on his family, making us all laugh. I can’t forget to tell you just how much Willis loved chocolate. If it had chocolate on it, he would eat it! Willis had many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great, great nieces and nephews. He just loved having “little ones” around. He always had a smile on his face when they were in his presence or even talking about them. Willis never had children but, loved his nieces and nephews as his own.

Willis was preceded in death by his:
Parents, Johnnie and Lucille Ross;
Brothers: Alvin Ross, Cecil Ross, Edward Ross, and Donald Ross;
Sisters: Blanche Cobb, Pauline Sperry, and Alice White.

Willis is survived by his loving:
Sisters: Wanda Brown and Winona Thompson;
Brother, Gary Ross;
Numerous nieces, nephews and many other loving family and friends.
