Ruth Henry, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, educator, and community volunteer went to Heaven August 7, 2016. Ruth was born in Laredo, Texas the daughter of Robert L. and Edna Frye. She graduated from Cleburne High School and the University of North Texas in Denton, TX. There she met Ingram Robert Henry, Jr and they were married in Quantico, VA in 1943. During WWII Ruth lived in San Antonio and taught school while Ingram served in the Pacific. After the war they lived in California for a year and then moved to Oklahoma City where they were founding members of Covenant Presbyterian church. Ruth volunteered for school events as well as many church and civic charities. After raising their two children, Ruth returned to teaching at Western Village Elementary and Taft Middle Schools but always put her family first. Her greatest pleasure was to visit with her children, granddaughter, and great-grandchildren. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years; her parents; her niece, Edna Marie Frentz; and nephews Nick, Paul and Pat Young of Texas. She is survived by her two children, Bob Henry (Judy) and Pam Henry; granddaughter Staci Stover (Rhett) and great-grandchildren Seldon and Chiles Stover; Sister Frances Young, nephew Les Young (Bonnie) and their children Megan and Mathew all of Dallas, and many cousins in Oklahoma, Texas, and Arkansas. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Rosehill Cemetery in Ardmore, OK. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Covenant Presbyterian Church in Oklahoma City.
