Condolence From: Shannon Christians
Condolence: Leroy was one of the men that taught my father, Alan Christians, to embalm. My father thought very highly of Leroy, and would say that he was one of the best embalmers he had the pleasure to work with. He also added that Leroy was quite the character, and always had a pair of cowboy boots on.

So, when I was a child who ended up a bit on the rowdy side and happened to wear a pair of snakeskin cowboy boots everywhere I went, my father started calling me "Leroy". He called me Leroy all throughout grade school, and I still run into a few funeral directors who knew me as a child who will address me by that nickname. My mother says the nickname was a testament to the appreciation my father had for the man. I regret never meeting him.

My thoughts and prayers are with your family.

Condolence: Ol Leroy was a good man and friend. We shared many laughs and jokes working together in the 'good ol days'. Leroy was always looking over the top of his glasses and uttering a funny, but profound statement. My favorite trick was to place exploding loads in his Salems (I think). I once pushed a load down into the cig an inch. Then another on the end. He lit it and it went off. Not to show anger, he evenly peeled back the paper and re-lit. It went off a second time! Still not wanting to act aggravated, he slowly removed his apron and gloves, walked out to his white Monte Carlo and went home in the middle of the day, not to be seen again. Finally, to this day I often repeat his favorite motto: "Heaven help us and give us grace." Rest well, my friend. jim
