Vircel Lavida Steele joined Heaven’s angels on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at the age of 97. She was born July 12, 1919 in Mountain Home, Arkansas to her parents, John W. and Martha E. (Barnett) Manuel. Vircel married Gilbert Steele on August 2, 1939 and together shared more than 52 years of marriage before his passing in 1991. Vircel dedicated her life time being a loving wife, devoted mother and dedicated homemaker. In her spare time, Vircel enjoyed taking care of her vegetable garden. She canned her vegetables, picked fruit and made all sorts of delicious dishes from her garden. She enjoyed making food for her family and friends and was known for her homemade rolls. Although she loved gardening and cooking, Vircel’s most treasured moments were those spent with her family. Vircel loved and served her Lord, family and others willingly with all of her heart. She was a longtime member of Capitol Hill Assembly of God where she enjoyed attending, worshipping and serving. She will be deeply missed.

Vircel was preceded in death by her:
Parents;
Husband of 52 years, Gilbert Steele;
Six brothers and sisters;
Son-in-law, Edwin Stevens.

Vircel leaves behind her loving:
Daughters: Barbara Stevens, Paula Oldham and her husband, J.C. and Donna Steele;
Grandchildren: Deborah Howard and her husband Jack, Kyle Stevens and his wife Stacey, Nicole Boren and her husband Josh, and Jacynda Oldham;
7 Great Grandchildren;
6 Great-Great Grandchildren;
as well as many extended loving family and friends.
