Obituary for Della Cordie Roberts (Kelley)
Vondel Smith & Son Mortuary at South Lakes
Viewing will be held 4-8pm Tuesday, December 6th and Wednesday, December 7th at the funeral home (4000 S.W 119th)
Services to celebrate her life will be held 2:00 pm Thursday, December 8, 2016 at Mayridge Baptist Church (4617 S. May Ave, OKC) with burial to follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
Della, 90, entered Heaven’s gates on Dec 4, 2016. The daughter of Jesse & Bertha Kelley, Della was born Feb 16, 1926 in Mt Vernon, AR. After graduating from school, Della married her sweetheart, Elmer Richard Roberts on July 25, 1943 & shared more than 40 years of marriage & family before his passing in 1988. Della loved helping people & had a very compassionate & nurturing spirit about her. She dedicated her life to caring for other by working as a medical nurse for more than 40 years before retiring in 1977. She also had an undeniable love for the Lord and she was a longtime active member of Mayridge Baptist Church. In her spare times, Della enjoyed such hobbies as gardening and cooking and will be remembered for her compassion for others. She will be deeply missed.
Preceded in death by her parents; and husband Elmer.
Della leaves behind her loving son, Richard Samuel Roberts & his wife, Karen; 6 grandchildren, 11 Great Grandchildren and a host of other loving family and friends.
