Services to celebrate her life will be held 2:00PM, Friday April 21, 2017 at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery (1906 S. Chickasaw St. Pauls Valley, OK)
Lola, 89, entered Heaven’s gates early Sunday morning. She was born in Pauls Valley, OK August 28, 1927 to Lonnie & Iva Johnson. After graduating from Pauls Valley High School Lola began a career in sales. As a young woman she moved to Vernon, TX & worked at the Woolsworth where she met her husband L.G. Clarkston. In the late 40’s they relocated to Oklahoma City where they started a family. Lola worked in retail stores such as TG&Y and McCroy’s, but retired from the work force in the mid 90’s from Burlington Coat Factory. She was longtime member of Southside Church of the Nazarene (OKC) & most recently a member of South Pointe Church of the Nazarene. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband L.G. Clarkston; sons: Larry Clarkston & Ricky Clarkston; sisters: Betty Ray, Minnie Brown, & Imogene Stevens; brothers: Lank Johnson, Stanley Johnson, & Billy Joe Johnson. She was also preceded in death by her grandson David Clarkston & her great-grandson Hunter Colton Fischer. Lola is survived by her daughter Ida & husband Ron Potts; brothers: Leon & wife Marita Johnson; Frank & wife Margaret Johnson; Sisters-in-law: Sonja Johnson, Brenda Johnson, & Clara Johnson; brothers-in-law; Buster Brown & Randy Ray. Three grandchildren: Richard Potts, Raina Fischer & husband Steven, Bryan Clarkston & wife Brooke. Seven great-grandchildren: Katelyn Fischer, Abby Fischer, Rebecca Potts, Ryan Potts, Makensey Johnson, Savion Clarkston & Brynlie Clarkston, as well as numerous nieces, nephews & friends.
