Boyd Lyle Haynes Doris Maxine Haynes
April 8, 1924 ~ July 13, 2011 April 8, 1925 ~ July 13, 2011
Boyd and Doris Haynes tragically left this life together to unite with their heavenly family on July 13, 2011. Boyd was born April 8, 1924, in El Reno, Oklahoma, to Clyde and Hazel Haynes. Doris was born exactly one year later, April 8, 1925, to John and Myrtle Mae Keef in Union City, Oklahoma.

They were united in holy matrimony on March 20, 1943, in Oakland, California, and later that year Boyd entered the U.S. Army serving during World War II in Germany. After the war ended, they returned to their home state and lived in the Oklahoma City area for the remainder of their lives.

Boyd and Doris owned and operated B&B Hearing Aid Service for many years before retiring in the 1980s. They were charter members of the Willow Creek Golf & Country Club and active in the South Oklahoma City community until health issues restricted their involvement.

For the Haynes Family, their sport was always golf which sometimes included family tournaments; Doris and Terry versus Boyd and Danny. According to Terry, he and his mother won more of these matches. However, I think I can hear from heaven a loud protest from Danny about Terry’s recollection of these scores!

Besides golf, Boyd enjoyed making wooden patio chairs and other woodworking projects. But the family really relied upon him for “fixing things” in his garage. When a small appliance or item was broken, family members easily responded, “It’s okay because ‘Dad’ or ‘Granddad’ or ‘Pampa’ will fix it!”

Doris, also known as “Mother”, “Grandmother” and “Great” was known for her baking skills. She loved giving birthday dinners for her family which would always include their favorite birthday cake or pie. And if you were lucky enough to be a recipient of her famous cookies, chocolate sheet cake, peanut brittle, coconut bon-bons, or any other of her numerous treats, then you were special. But then, that was just Doris…she made everyone feel special when you were around her. She especially enjoyed playing golf with her club “buddies”. They played spring, summer, and fall, but when cold weather set in, the ladies settled for a weekly game of “tripoly”.

As Terry stated, “Mother and Dad were the greatest parents and grandparents in the world.” Their legacies will live on in each of us, and their presence on earth will be deeply missed.

Boyd and Doris were preceded in death by their son, Danny, both sets of their parents, Doris’s brothers: Gene, Charles, and Lloyd “Bos” Keef; sisters: Jake Farris and Dwade Wood; Boyd’s brothers: Lloyd “Bud”, Virgil, and sisters: Arline Leck, Doris “Toots” Ridenour, and Betty Smith.

Boyd is survived by a sister, Jean Hays of Yukon, OK. They are also survived by son, Terry Dean Haynes and wife, Linda of OKC; daughter-in-law, Camilla Haynes of OKC; 8 grandchildren: Buffy Clayton of McLoud, OK, Burke Haynes and wife, Misty of Moore, OK, Shantel Norman of Austin, TX, Trent Haynes of Dallas, TX, Edward Fowler of Moore, OK, Alan Fowler and wife, Layla of OKC, Vanessa Wells and husband, Derrick of OKC, Sharla Swinehart and husband, Kory of Piedmont, OK; great-grandchildren: Asaycia, Tia, Shylee, Brinly, Kinsley, Madeline, Savannah, Hannah, Zachary, Joshua, Shiloh, Bradley, Devan, Cory, Tyler, Brianna, Mason, Colby, Avery, and Kaitlynn ; and many other loving family and friends.

The family extends their eternal gratitude to Doris and Boyd’s three angels: Connie Kirby, Kathy Little, and Sis Gatz.
