One of many memories of Rudy were of him playing softball on the men's softball Wilson team. He played many softball games during the '70s when Carolyn and I were young parents with little ones running around us each summer. Our husbands played competitive league sponsored by Wilson (the meat packing company). Rudy was an outstanding player for the Wilson team. He could run, throw, and consistenly hit the ball to score. Rudy, Don, Tucker, Dan, Larry, Joe, and Johnny were among the best players in the league. Together they were an awesome team often landing in the final playoffs against Kerr McGee and others I've long since forgotten. The most memoriable of all the tournament games I recall was when Rudy's Wilson team represented Oklahoma in the National Softball Tournament in New York. Among some of the activities during that visit was watching an exciting Boston Red Soxs game one fine sunny day.
