Melvin Joseph Peterson, Jr., fondly known as Joe by his family and friends, departed this earthly life on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at the age of 63. He was born September 4, 1953 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to his parents, Katherine (Tucker) and Melvin Joseph Peterson, Sr. A graduate of Central High School, Joe later continued his education at OSU. On September 20, 2008, he married the love of his life, Laura Tyler and this union of marriage was blessed with five sons. Joe provided a warm and loving home for his family. He retired as a District Manager for Dollar Tree. Joe enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and traveling in his spare time, but mostly loved being with his family and friends. Joe will be remembered for his love of family and his unique sense of humor. He was a loving husband, devoted father, doting grandfather, loyal brother and faithful friend who will be deeply missed each day.

Brother, Robert Peterson;
Grandson, Kyron Pennington.

Six Grandchildren: Jackson Peterson, Troy Peterson, Kannon Pennington, Laney Pennington, Heydyn Pennington, and Laykyn Pennington;
