The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Berta Chapman can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolence From: LESLIE STORIE
Condolence: Berta was a wonderful person inside and out. She always treated us like her own kids. I know that she and mother (Carol Summers-Carter) have had a great reunion in heaven. I have so many happy memories of being at the beauty shop with mother and Berta. I will never forget how much she loved my mother and was so kind and gently with her as her Alzheimer's progressed. I'm sure when they met in heaven the first thing Berta did was take care of Mother's hair!

Condolence From: Rhonda Swindell (formerly Bigelow/maiden Howard)
Condolence: My Mom (Jeannie Howard) just told me about dear sweet Berta going to Heaven. I told Mother that Berta and Daddy are surely mis-behaving in Heaven, those 2 little onary things! I'm so sorry for your pain of earthly loss Jim, Katrina, Rosie (sorry, I've known you WAY too long that way instead of Rosella!), Christina & Jon. You're all near & dear to my heart...you know, as in lifetime friends. She's seeing ALL that we've been told but can't begin to imagine! Hugs to all.

Condolence From: Ms. McNeil
Condolence: I'm truly sorry to read about the loss of your loved one. God is a God of comfort and I pray that he will comfort your Family at this difficult time (2Corinthians 1:3,4). In due time God will swallow up death forever (Isaiah 25:8 , 1 Corinthians 15:26). Imagine the time when there's no more sick, pain or death and the earth being restore to a Paradise (Revelation 21:4). May you find comfort in the promises that God has made. Please accept my condolences.
